Day Trip to
Pajinka

The cultural tour to Pajinka is a journey to the most northerly point ‘at the top’ of the Australian mainland. The Cape York Cultural Tour has been developed in consultation with traditional custodians and involves a 1.5 hour coastal hike to the famous ‘northern most point’ signpost with incredible views over the islands of the Torres Strait. A great place to pause and take a selfie! Guests will also travel through Cape York rain-forest to visit historic Somerset and discover its colonial past.

Cost: $390 + booking fee per person (AUD) with a two-passenger minimum. The tour price includes a packed meal prepared by the chef at the Lodge’s Paperbark Restaurant.

Day Trip to Fruit Bat Falls

This tour is more than just a tropical adventure – it’s a cultural exploration of the Cape York Peninsula. Guests will visit some of the five communities that make up the Northern Peninsula Area before boarding a local ferry to cross the Jardine River into the Apudthama national park. From there, the tour continues on a 4WD path including the Old Telegraph Track, to arrive at the majestic Fruit Bat Falls – one of the few places where it is safe to swim.

Cost: $490 + booking fee per person (AUD) with a two-passenger minimum. The tour price includes ferry fares as well as packed meals prepared by the chef at the Lodge’s Paperbark Restaurant.

Cultural Dance Performance

First Nations communities have been weaving stories into dance across millennia. The Lodge’s purpose-built performance space offers individuals and groups the opportunity to experience the choreographed dance, colours, intricate dress, and enchanting singing and music of the world’s oldest continually surviving cultures. Offering exclusive performances by the award winning Naygayiw Gigi – and other emerging Cape York Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander troupes, visitors will feel the ‘fire of culture burning’ in these unique and special dance performances.

Explore further in our diverse vehicle fleet, featuring both 2WD and 4WD options. Our 2WDs comfortably accommodate up to five passengers, while our 4WDs cater up to seven adults. Guests are advised to book ahead, as hire cars are in high demand. Available from $205- $350 per day offering unlimited kilometers. Please note: vehicles are not permitted for off-road use or across the Jardine Ferry and 4WD vehicles are the only vehicles suitable for the drive to Pajinka (Top of Cape York Peninsula).
